Dear Givers,
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank each of you for donating funds to help my children.
Over the past few years, I have been both humbled and amazed at the generosity and kindness of others. To be supported by friends and family is a tremendous gift. To be supported by strangers is nothing short of miraculous. We have done nothing to deserve your kindness and yet you have sacrificed from your own lives in order to bless ours. I am deeply moved and sincerely grateful.
I wish also to thank your friend Joe and his beautiful family for their efforts. We cannot say enough about Joe's work and the impact he has had on the students fortunate enough to be under his instruction. Not only is he a gifted and talented musician and teacher, he has a way of impacting students in ways that change lives. My children attend this school for one reason: to give them the opportunity to be mentored and encouraged by Joe Heslip. His presence in their lives has contributed so much to their healing, both physically and emotionally. We are forever grateful.
The money raised here will go towards helping with Bryn's physiotherapy costs. She is moving slowly but steadily towards a scenario where perhaps her life won't have to revolve around medical appointments and physiotherapists, but in the meantime we are increasingly grateful to be able to access the medical help needed to get her solidly back on her feet again. You have now become part of her story, and we thank you for your willingness to do so.
Throughout this journey my prayer for my family has been that the suffering not be wasted; that in the end, it would somehow help to shape and refine us for the better, and not the worse. Among other things, my children have had the opportunity to witness first-hand what it means to receive. Though I would certainly have chosen to spare them the circumstances, I can't help but be grateful for the impact people like yourselves have made in their lives. And in mine. And I trust that whenever they are met with an opportunity to bless others, they will remember the selflessness and kindness shown to them these past few years.
